GIMT 2011 Show Report
The 2nd Guangzhou International Machine Tools & Machinery Show was held on August 17-20 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, China. The 4-day show attracted 15,000 visitors. State-of-the-art machines from the US, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the mainland were showcased in the 14,000sqm exhibition hall.
Participating in GIMT 2011 for the first time, The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) delegation brought leading brands from North America, such as Haeger, Parlec, Widia, Megafab, Master Chemical, Star Cutter, Automated Precision, Omax, to the show. The Piranha Hydraulic Ironworker displayed by Megafab demonstrated superb punching and shearing power. Technical experts of Megafab even came all the way from the US to Guangzhou to demonstrate the machine and answer visitors’ questions.
Stabuli 6-axis robot arm displayed by GOA International was another eye-catching exhibit in the show.
The exhibitor Hardinge is a global leader in the machine tool industry. Its product portfolio includes: Kellenberger grinders, Hauser jig grinders, Triplet ID grinders, Tschudin OD grinders, Jones & Shipman grinders, Bridgeport vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers and 5-axis machining centers along with Hardinge workholding and rotary table systems.
Komatsu from Japan displayed H1F AC Servo Press Machine. Thanks to the newly developed hybrid drive mechanism, a large output with a small motor has been achieved and the power costs are very low.
Apart from displaying machine tools and processing machines, the organizer invited a number of Guangzhou technical institutes to present their achievements in training technical experts for the industry.
The Chamber of Commerce of GuangDong Machinery & Tools invited their members to take part in the exhibition.
The exhibition was supported by 17 associations from Hong Kong and the Mainland China.
To extend the media coverage, the organizer advertised on a number of newspapers. Besides, 120,000 invitations and over 200,000 emails were sent to buyers and experts from the industry to ensure exhibitors having a fruitful exhibiting result.
